Letter from the Founders
I can always notice another athlete at my Lifetime gym.
Sometimes it's the way the weight moves — fast, aggressive, and smooth.
Sometimes it's the outfit. Not concerned about optics — not looking to impress, just work.
Sometimes it's humility. Not acting like "the man" (there's always someone bigger, faster, stronger).
I like training in my gym as a former athlete. It gives me a sense of pride knowing that I was coached on how to lift and how to respect the weight room. Former athletes don't walk around like they own the gym — they know better.
The problem?
I don't see too many former athletes in my gym.
There are plenty out there. And maybe they're playing rec leagues, raising families, or focusing on their careers. But I wish I saw and knew more of them.
Maybe the transition from a high-energy team weight room to a commercial gym is just too much of a letdown. It's tough to replicate that old environment. The camaraderie. The shared suffering. The purpose written out on the wall.
But that's exactly why we need you back in the gym.
Heck, the world needs that in society. It needs people who know how to push themselves when no one is blowing a whistle. It needs people who understand that training isn't just a 30-day fitness challenge, but a lifelong practice of physical maintenance and mental toughness.
Being an athlete doesn't expire when your eligibility runs out. You may not get the gear anymore, you won't have music blasting in the weight room, and you won't get those laughs on the team bus back from the away game. But you had the privilege of getting to do it. It's a gift.
So if you're a former athlete who's been relying on the glory days or staying out of the weight room for whatever reason, consider this your invitation to step back in.
We need more of you out there. Not just to move weight, but to set the standard for others and yourself.
Once an athlete, always an athlete. IDNTY — Athletes for Life.
Hope you enjoy what we have for you this week.

The Breakfast Club: Michael Jordan & Tim Grover's Relentless Mindset That Built an Empire

In the late 1980s, the Detroit Pistons — the "Bad Boys" era — were beating the Bulls into submission with brute physicality. Jordan was getting hammered every night, and he was tired of it.
Grover, then a young trainer making $3.35 an hour at a local health club, saw a small newspaper article quoting Jordan saying he was fed up with the abuse. He wrote Jordan a letter offering to help.
Jordan called back. Their first meeting? Grover gave him one simple challenge: "Give me 30 days." Thirty days turned into 15 years.
Full Send: Brittany Wiebe on Committing 100% to Growth After the Final Whistle

You remember the feeling — the daily grind that defined you gives way to jobs, families, adult responsibilities, and the quiet question every former athlete eventually faces: How do I keep that fire burning when the scoreboard is gone?
Brittany Wiebe has the answer — and it's one phrase: Full Send.
The Canadian-born strength and conditioning coach, former D1 basketball and hockey player, has built a career by saying "yes" to every opportunity that scared her — interning at Clemson, grad assisting at Mizzou, coordinating strength in the Dominican Republic for the Houston Astros, leading in Dubai with multilingual pro football players, and now heading women's basketball, acrobatics & tumbling, and beach volleyball at the University of Oregon.
Family Fire: How Brad Arnett Forged the Watt Brothers into NFL Legends

Three brothers from a small town in Wisconsin. Three full-ride scholarships to the University of Wisconsin. Three NFL careers. One legendary strength coach who turned their backyard battles into a dynasty-building machine.
JJ Watt, TJ Watt, and Derek Watt didn't just make it to the NFL — they dominated it together, pushed each other to greatness, survived devastating injuries, and came back stronger every single time. At the center of it all was Brad Arnett, their strength coach at NX Level in Pewaukee, Wisconsin — the man who created a training environment so brutally competitive, so relentlessly focused, and so deeply rooted in family that it produced the greatest brother trio in league history.
This isn't just the story of three NFL stars. It's the ultimate blueprint for every former high school and college athlete who wonders how to keep that competitive fire alive when the uniform comes off — and how to turn brothers, teammates, or training partners into the fuel that elevates everyone.
Train Smart or Don't Train at All!

For decades, the strength and conditioning world operated on one simple belief: lift heavier, squat deeper, push harder. Bigger numbers meant better athletes. Then Mike Boyle stepped in and quietly proved everyone wrong.
Not with louder music or flashier drills — but with smarter thinking.
Mike Boyle didn't just build stronger athletes. He built durable ones. He built athletes who stayed on the field, stayed healthy, and kept performing year after year. In the process, he revolutionized how the entire industry thinks about performance — especially for those of us whose playing days are behind us but whose competitive fire never went out.
